Community-led monitoring (CLM) is an accountability mechanism for HIV responses at different levels, led and implemented by local community-led organizations of people living with HIV, networks of key populations, other affected groups or other community entities. The Zambian Youth platform being one of the ten implementing partners in the PEPFAR supported CLM in country has been making progress to enhance execution.

Implementing the task in the third, the organization hopes to continue being relevant and produce quality data though the placed community facilitators in all the 16 districts of Western Province. Therefore, in the quest for quality data earlier this month the ZYP staff from headquarter embarking on a learning and sharing training to assess the challenges and seek solutions based on the performance in the first half of the year.

The workshop was held at Acams gardens along Limulunga road that saw all the community facilitator and organization experts who have worked on the project before to share notes. During the same meeting, outstanding CFs were awarded for their dedication and were encouraged to continue others to emulate them. ZYP continues to build capacity in the community facilitators and working with other stakeholders that would be instrumental in reaching out recipients of care in their spaces linked to various health facilities where data is collected from.

ZYP also took part in the CLM tool review and update meeting that was held at the National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB council in Lusaka. Attended the M&E Manager and Senior Programs Officer where the current tool was reviewed and update and a new CLM feedback provision strategy was rolled out. This development is exciting as it will make operations easy at the facilities because feedback will be shared at each stage to enhance improved quality service delivery. The importance of data quality was shared among implementing partners and ZYP is excited to extend this knowledge to the team in the field to ensure quality data is collected for correct and evidence-based findings and looking forward to using the new CLM tool and feedback provision that is all encompassing.
