Promote SRHR and youth agency
-
Engage gatekeepers and foster intergenerational dialogue
-
Utilize gender-transformative and inclusive models
What We Are Doing
-
Agency Formation: Creating school-based clubs and youth groups to increase access to SRHR information.
-
Technical Workshops: Conducting Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and life skills training.
-
Youth-Friendly Services: Strengthening feedback mechanisms and supporting non-discriminatory healthcare provider training.
-
Intergenerational Dialogue: Facilitating community fairs and panel discussions involving parents and educators
Where We Are Doing It
-
The project is active across the Mkushi, Kapiri, Chibombo, and Chisamba districts, with broader advocacy engagements taking place at the National level.
Our Objectives and Targets
TYP plays a critical role in advancing Objective 3 by empowering adolescents and young people to take control of their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
-
Empower more adolescents to make informed SRHR decisions.
-
Improve perceptions of health services as adolescent- and gender-responsive.
-
Increase youth-led advocacy initiatives influencing policies and budgeting.
-
Institutionalize meaningful youth engagement in consultation processes.
-
Strengthen accountability mechanisms in SRHR service delivery.
"Before YLAP, we had nowhere to turn for real information about our health. Now, we know our rights and where to access youth-friendly services without fear or judgment. The weekend clinics changed everything for us!"
