CHOMA DAY SECONDARY SCHOOL JOINS THE GROWING LIST OF SCHOOLS REACHED BY TYP’S SRHR SESSIONS.
Over 100 Grade 10 pupils at Choma Day Secondary School recently benefited from TYP’s ongoing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) sessions, with the first topic focusing on Negotiation Skills and Negotiating for Safer Sex.
The session provided a safe and engaging platform for learners to openly discuss the challenges adolescents face when trying to make informed decisions, especially in situations where they feel pressured or unsure of how to respond to unhealthy behaviors.

Students expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that while they are often told to “make good choices,” they are rarely taught the practical skills needed to confidently communicate boundaries.
Through interactive discussions and relatable scenarios, learners gained tools to:
- Identify unhealthy behaviors
- Communicate their boundaries clearly
- Make informed decisions about their health
- Understand the importance of self-respect and confidence

The appreciation from the learners was evident. Many highlighted how the session made them feel heard, equipped, and empowered.
TYP remains committed to ensuring that adolescents and young people are not only informed but also confident enough to advocate for their own well-being.
