The Winning With Women and Girls (WWW.G) Project continued to make significant progress during the second quarter of 2026 by empowering Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Choma and Livingstone Districts through integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) awareness sessions, Life skills leadership and mentorship sessions. During this period, the project reached 1,973 AGYW with comprehensive SRHR information through community and school-based outreach sessions and provided life skills and mentorship to 146 AGYW through mentorship sessions. These interventions equipped AGYW with knowledge on HIV prevention, family planning, menstrual hygiene management, mental health, healthy relationships, gender-based violence prevention, and entrepreneurship, enabling them to make informed decisions while building confidence, resilience, and leadership skills.

A major milestone during the quarter was the continued growth in the participation, leadership, and engagement of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in key decision-making and health governance platforms. Through the project’s ongoing mentorship sessions, capacity-building initiatives, and advocacy support, AGYW are gaining the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to actively participate in District HIV/AIDS Committee (DHAC) meetings, national health programming engagements, and policy dialogue platforms.

These mentorship interventions continue to empower AGYW to become effective leaders and advocates, enabling them to amplify their voices and contribute meaningfully to discussions and decisions on health programs, policies, and services that affect their lives. The increased presence of AGYW in these spaces demonstrates the project’s continued commitment to strengthening youth leadership and promoting meaningful youth participation in health governance.

Furthermore, the project’s ongoing life skills and mentorship sessions continue to transform the lives of AGYW by equipping them with essential skills for personal growth, economic empowerment, and self-reliance. Through sustained support and guidance, AGYW are becoming more confident, resilient, and better positioned to take up leadership roles and create positive change within their communities.

Looking Ahead

The project remains committed to sustaining these mentorship and empowerment efforts by creating more opportunities for AGYW to access leadership development, participate in decision-making spaces, and strengthen their capacity to advocate for improved health outcomes and services for themselves and their peers.

Online Campaign: The Real Talk Show

The Real Talk Show served as a key digital advocacy and engagement platform under the Winning with Women and Girls Project, complementing community-based mentorship by extending the project's reach to a wider online audience. The platform was designed to amplify the voices of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW), promote meaningful dialogue on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and strengthen youth participation in health governance and policy advocacy.

Through a series of live and pre-recorded discussions, the show provided a safe and interactive space for young people to engage with health professionals, policymakers, youth advocates, and community leaders on issues affecting their health and well-being. Topics focused on SRHR, HIV, youth leadership, accountability, access to quality health services, and the role of AGYW in influencing health systems. To further enhance audience engagement, the campaign incorporated interactive polls, advocacy messages, explainer videos, and short documentaries that encouraged learning, dialogue, and active participation.

During the reporting period, the Real Talk Show digital campaign reached 83,491 people across multiple online platforms, significantly increasing the visibility of the Winning with Women and Girls Project and the Her Voice Fund. This digital reach enabled the project to engage adolescents and young people who may not have been reached through in-person mentorship activities, ensuring broader access to information and advocacy opportunities.

The Real Talk Show strengthened the project's digital advocacy efforts by creating an accessible platform for information sharing, dialogue, and youth engagement. It complemented the project's mentorship interventions by fostering informed decision-making, promoting civic participation, and empowering more adolescents and young people to advocate for equitable, youth-friendly, and rights-based Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights services in their communities.
