About The Campaign

The Youth Response Challenge is a vibrant initiative under the Youth Led Advocacy Project (YLAP), spearheaded by The Youth Platform. This campaign is your space — a chance for adolescents and young people to raise their voices, share their experiences, and propose real solutions to the challenges they face. It’s built on the belief that young people hold deep insights about the realities in their communities, and those insights deserve to shape the future.

  • A platform for young people to speak out on real-life challenges.
  • Hosted by the Youth Led Advocacy Project (YLAP), implemented by The Youth Platform.
  • Supported by ActionAid Zambia and SIDA.
  • Focuses on collecting youth-driven ideas and lived experiences to inform future solutions.

What We Are Doing

  • Running a two-week campaign on social media, focusing on key youth issues daily.
  • Posting discussion topics that directly affect young people’s lives.
  • Inviting young people to comment, post, and share their experiences and solutions
  • Gathering responses to create a portfolio of youth-driven strategies.
  • Amplifying youth voices to influence policy and advocacy efforts.

How It Will Impact

By actively participating in the Youth Response Challenge, your contributions will spark meaningful change in the following ways:

  • 2,000 AGYW accessed family planning services
  • 4,000 AYP screened for STIs, 2,000 AYP tested for HIV & PrEP access
  • 20 Community Health Champions trained
  • 12 interface meetings at health facility level
  • 4 national roundtable meetings influencing SRHR policy
  • Increased knowledge & access to youth-friendly SRH services
